2012 Mother’s Day Offering – God’s Love at Work (John 5:17, 1 John 4:11)
Our gifts to the Mother’s Day Offering are lifelines of hope, helping patients who suffer from serious illness and devastating financial need pay their hospital bills in the name of Jesus Christ. With limited income, they “fall between the cracks,” having too much to qualify for Medicaid or charity care — but not enough to pay their hospital bills. They live in fear at the edge of a financial cliff. God intervenes through the compassion and generosity of North Carolina Baptists.

Sixteen-year-old Logan McGirt is battling leukemia. But God’s love has been at work, bringing healing through medical care and hope through the Mother’s Day Offering. “We were afraid of losing everything,” his mother Rhonda said. The grace of a letter lifted their burdens, saying, “Your son’s hospital bill has been paid by compassionate and mission-minded North Carolina Baptists in the name of Jesus Christ and His love.” Rhonda replied with tears of joy, “This was a miracle from God that strengthened our faith, gave us hope, and changed our lives. Thank you with all our hearts.”
