Back to School Backpacks and Events (late July - early August)
Church groups are needed to assist ministry centers throughout Appalachia with back-to-school events. Teams are needed to assist them with these events as well as provide backpacks of school supplies to distribute to children. Team leader will be sent into on what to put in backpacks. Outreach may include games, refreshments and gospel presentations using drama, clowns, puppets, etc. depending on talents of the team. The location of these events would be determined by partnership coordinators according to ministry centers’ need and invitation. Details of the outreach events will be worked out between the requestor and the team leader. Team will need to provide all supplies, as well as transportation, lodging and food. Requestor can give details as to lodging options. Note: Teams will need to provide professional background checks on all team members over the age of 18. Team leaders will be sent information from NC Baptist Men concerning options for this.
Length of assignment: 1-3 days
Preferred dates: July 28 - August 20, 2017 (Will workout specific dates with requestor)
Costs: Transportation, food, lodging, and supplies
