Haiti HT18-002

Purpose:
The purpose of the Haiti/NCBM Teams is to assist a church planter in Haiti.  This church planting ministry started as a result of the earthquake in 2010.  The base of operations for Pastor Rene Romil is Sanitard, Haiti where he leads a church and a school that has 200 students.  Teams will assist in completion of the guest house above the school, do street evangelism, build temporary chapels, and prepare the way for future teams.

One of the main priorities for construction teams is to open the door for church planters in isolated communities to start Bible studies, plant churchesm and make disciples.  There will be many opportunities for evangelism, preaching, or equipping conferences for men and/or women.

Teams
Teams should consist of 6-14 members. Ideally, the team will have at least one of two people who are familiar with construction and who can help guide their team in ways they can assist Haitians in replacing roofs damaged or destroyed by Hurricane Matthew.  Also, teams will do evangelism so it is helpful if some team members are familiar with simple evangelism technigues like Evangecube, The Story, or Roman Road.

Cost
The base cost of this trip is $400, PLUS an additional cost for the airline ticket.  This includes food, lodging, transportation, translators, and supplemental health/evacuation insurance. (You are also encouraged to consider trip cancellation insurance for your trip at $5.20 per day per person extra cost.) You will need to pay an additional $10 once you arrive at the PAP airport, as an entrance fee.  Take extra money. (Price does not account for any incidentals).

Each team will need to also provide $3000 in funds for materials for roofs or other construction supplies.  It is also helpful if you take witnessing bracelets, Creole evangelism tracts, and school supplies.

Logistics
The team will be met at the airport by a driver and transported to the base of operations. Volunteers will stay in bunk beds, dormitory style, with separate rooms for men and women. The house is equipped with bathroom and shower facilities. A full list of what to bring will be sent to the team leader.
