Baptists on Mission exists to Glorify God by involving churches and Christians in meeting human needs in Jesus’ name
Equipping Christians through networking and education to demonstrate Christ’s love to those who are hurting.
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because He has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” ~ Luke 4:18-19
As demographics in North Carolina continue to change, churches are facing challenges as they try to minister to the needs of families within their communities. For decades NC Baptists have relied on associations to coordinate Compassion Ministries through church and community staff who are no longer being funded in many associations. The Compassion Ministries team has representatives from across the state who are identifying successful models of ministry that are addressing food insecurity, homelessness, literacy, addiction and other issues. Our goal is to provide information of successful models and facilitate contact for individuals who are willing to share from their own experiences to open the doors for ministry to happen in communities across NC.
Starting a compassion ministry may seem like a daunting task, however with God's guidance and resources from churches with active compassion ministries, you can do it.
