Hurricane Matthew

Hurricane Matthew struck the eastern half of NC with a tremendous amount of damage on October 8, 2016 mostly related to record flooding.  Several rivers crested higher than previous major flood events like Hurricanes Fran and Floyd.  In all, 28 people lost their lives due to this storm.  Officials estimate over $1.5 billion in damage occured in NC alone.

1) Mud-outs, tear-out or chainsaw jobs completed-1,553
2) Number of meals provided total-477,000
3) Volunteers Days of service- 35,000
4) Approximately 500 home rebuilds are either underway, complete or on the waiting list to be re-built or repaired. Others may be added as we work the list down.
5) We are doing rebuilds in Windsor, Goldsboro, Warsaw (finished), Pender County and Lumberton.
6) Volunteers are still needed here in NC to help people who were affected by Hurricane Matthew. Please go to the "volunteer now" button on the right to sign up to help. Great lodging, meals and opportunities are provided.
