Floodwaters in Trinity and Walker Counties have left residents faced with massive amounts of damage.

Even houses with six-foot stilts that usually escape flood damage were underwater this time.

“It’s very serious. Power lines are underwater and it’s just totally devastating,” “These people are going to have a hard road ahead of them to try to rebuild. The water level is way higher than anticipated. These two counties are at record levels for the flood level for Lake Livingston and the Trinity River.”

Baptists on Mission Disaster Response will serve in these two counties. Recovery work can begin as early as Wednesday, May 22, with assessment and other ministries beginning the day before.
