Alaska

2023 Alaska projects are now ready! Click here to see a current list of opportunities. And, check back from time to time, as we will be adding new projects as they come in!

Known as the Last Frontier, our 49th state is alive with adventure - rough, rugged, and beautiful. Alaska is populated by hardy, independent folk. The opportunity for sharing Christ and furthering His Kingdom here is wide open. The majority of Alaskan Baptist congregations are small in number. Many are located in isolated areas. Things we take for granted in our churches are simply not available to many of theirs. Our participation in missions in Alaska provides needed resources, leadership, and possibly most importantly, - encouragement. Be in prayer about this exciting Partnership and your participation in it!

HIGHLIGHTED NEED:           Church Demolition and Restoration  (Moose Creek, Alaska)
Teams are needed to assist congregation in strategically demolishing existing building in order to salvage materials to use in new building. Lots of work to do – church just needs helping hands and willing backs. There may be other work on new building, but will depend on funds that church has available at the time. Requestor can discuss full situation. Team should plan to rent a vehicle for the week.  Team of 10-15 could stay in the church or with church members. Kitchen is available for team to use to prepare its meals. Showers in church member’s home.  See more details here.

2023 REQUESTS are here. Projects may be added weekly, so be sure to check back! Start by clicking here to see a printable .PDF of 2023 projects. Once you have looked it over, contact Mark Abernathy (mabernathy@ncbaptist.org ; 919-459-5607) to discuss the opportunities and/or secure a mission project. You will be put in direct contact with a requestor in Alaska to ask any and all questions. If both you and requestor feel it is a good match, go ahead and set a date for your team's service. Then you will be directed to secure the project (from the list below) on behalf of your team by registering as the team leader. Remember to check back from time to time as new projects are added periodically throughout the year.

Alaska offers North Carolina Baptists an opportunity to serve Christ in a unique area of our nation where God is at work! We will need teams to serve in a variety of ways in 2023. Please pray about your participation in this ministry!
