Teams of experienced construction volunteers are needed to assist church in creating space for a commercial kitchen in existing garage area. The space is approximately 22’ x 22’ and will need some stud walls, insulation, all plumbing, all electrical, and all appliances installed – including stove, commercial freezers and refrigerator, ice maker, three compartment sink, and sanitizer. The kitchen would double as a Disaster Relief Kitchen for use during time of disaster. Team will be asked to help provide building materials for the project. Team leader can discuss with requestor. Host church will provide housing for the teams in existing church and possibly in church member’s homes if needed. A kitchen in on site for the team to use for meal preparation. Some meals may be provided for team. Church has 15 passenger van and a 9 passenger Suburban for team’s use. Team will be responsible for fuel usage. Host church will provide opportunity for fishing and sight-seeing for the team.

Length of assignment:       One Week

Costs:                                    Travel to AK, some team food, construction materials
