Moldova MO22-014

Moldova MO22-014
Children's Ministry Team for Moldovan Foster Parent Retreat
Sunday, July 31-Monday, August 8, 2022

Unlike previous teams, whose primary work was with Ukranian refugees, this team will work with the children of foster parents who will come in from all over Moldova to the Baltata Ministry Center for training, fellowship, and renewal. (Some refugee children may also be included in this.) The team will conduct VBS-type activities for the children while their parents are in meetings.

HOW: Baptists on Mission will recruit and fill the teams, make airline reservations, and coordinate on-field logistics for each team. North Carolina Baptists have been assigned a “volunteer house” that includes six bedrooms and four baths Volunteers will be assigned two to a room. (Couples can of course stay in one room together. Singles will need to double up with a roommate). Once settled in and oriented, team will serve throughout the week. The center has washer and dryers that team members can use. Meals will be taken at the center dining hall.Sunday will be spent worshiping in a local church. Team will fly out Monday morning.

COST: Estimated cost will be approximately $2200. (Could be a bit less or a bit more).  Exact cost will vary depending on airfare at time of issue. BOM will work to get the best cost available. Field costs will be $325 and will include 1) lodging and three meals a day; 2) professional background check administered by BOM upon registration; 3) transport from and back to the airport; and 4) translators for the team.  BOM will provide volunteer missionary insurance for each volunteer.

OTHER: Each team member will need a valid passport that has at least 6 months left on it from time of departure. Proof of COVID vaccination - OR - negative COVID test will be required for travel to Moldova.

FINALLY: Applicants must be at least 18 years old to participate. Those participating in this effort must be flexible and willing to work as a member of the team. Smoking, chewing tobacco, and drinking alcoholic beverages may be highly offensive to other Christians. Team members must refrain from these activities while traveling with Baptists on Mission.
