Marriage 2:24 Retreat
Why "Marriage 2:24"? Marriage is two people, twenty-four hours a day and reminds us of Genesis 2:24, when God explains the meaning of marriage. Prepare your hearts and your spouse for a fun and inspiring marriage retreat offered by Family Foundations, a ministry of Baptists on Mission. There will be some group listening sessions as well as some downtime to be with your special loved one. The retreat will be at Caraway Conference Center near Asheboro on November 10-11, 2017. The cost is $225 per couple which includes accommodations, 3 meals, and a program fee.

Lets change north Carolina
Despite divorce rates falling across the U.S. from 5.1 per 1,000 in 1990 to 3.8 per 1,000 in 2009, North Carolinians marry and divorce at slightly higher rates than most other states. It doesn't have to be this way. Why not make North Carolina the best place in the U.S. to marry and raise a family?
marriage mentoring could be the answer
We have established a partnership with Les and Leslie Parrott Ministries to bring the Marriage Mentoring Academy to churches all across our state. With over 250,000 couples trained, the results are in: Marriage Mentoring works. Churches with marriage mentoring ministries produce stronger families and healthier congregations.
how does the training work?
We've designed our Marriage Mentoring program to be extremely cost effective. There's no need to travel anywhere - you can complete the training online in a group or as a couple. The cost for training is just $59 per couple. You can complete the training at your own pace plus you'll have unlimited access to the support materials afterwards. There are also options available for registering a larger group for training.
who should be trained?
- Teachers of couples' classes
- Marriage pastors and support staff
- Couples in the church ministering to other couples
- Every small group leader
What happens next?
Our goal is to train and deploy marriage mentors to counsel less experienced couples and be ready for organic mentoring opportunities as a small group leader, teacher or friend. Once this movement gets started it's self-replicating and contagious. Often those who have been mentored become mentors themselves and the tide rises for everyone.

PROTECT EVERY CHILD MINISTRY
Protect Every Child is an effort to help create awareness about what it means for children to be safe on the Internet. Their safety begins with parents understanding that children and teenagers may not know how to be safe on the Internet, and parent involvement goes a long way in making sure they are safe.
The potential for harm on the Internet is great. Sixty-four percent of teenagers say they do things online they would not want their parents to know about. Fourteen percent of teenagers have met face-to-face with a person they know through the Internet. Another 40 percent report that when they receive messages online from someone they don’t know they usually reply to and chat with that person.
Although the potential for danger exists, parents should not fear technology. Instead, as Protect Every Child suggests, they can view technology as an opportunity for discipleship. Parents can help their children and teenagers set healthy parameters for using the Internet that allows them to be God-honoring in their use of technology.
NCBM have produced short videos that churches can use to help parents understand about Internet safety. The four guidebook sections to the right are companions to these videos and provide suggestions about how to promote Internet safety meetings at church and how to lead parents during these meetings.
