Hurricane Helene

Hurricane Helene Update: 9-26-24

Dear N.C. Baptist Churches/Volunteers,

Hurricane Helene is a very powerful hurricane that will come ashore in Florida and will cause extensive damage in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and other southern states. The storm is expected to come ashore as a category 4 hurricane. Thanks to your prayers, gifts and support, N.C. Baptist Disaster Response is preparing to serve Helene survivors. Our large feeding units are on stand by and ready to deploy. Feeding volunteers along with recovery, shower/laundry, logistics, safety, Medical Reserve Corp, communications, admin and chaplaincy are all preparing to respond. We are most concerned with western North Carolina and the expected rainfall in our own state. We are also prepared to help in other states if needed. We will need many trained and untrained volunteers to help people in Jesus’ name. For more information or to sign up to help go to https://baptistsonmission.org/Hurricane-Helene.

Please consider downloading and sharing this NC Missions Offering video during your service this Sunday to help others learn more about what God is doing through NC Baptist Disaster Response and how to pray for people affected by Helene and for our NC volunteers. Please consider having a prayer time during your service this Sunday to pray for those affected by Helene and the volunteers who are helping. Pray that the volunteers will be the hands and feet of Jesus to hurting people. Pray that God will be glorified and made known by the words and actions of the volunteers who are helping.

Consider giving to help those in need. Please support the NC Missions Offering which provides for the on-going disaster response ministry and all ministries of Baptists on Mission. You can learn more about the NC Missions Offering at www.ncmissionsoffering.org.
