The Coronavirus has suddenly become a talking point in every household across America. Even though this virus is relatively new, other similar viruses have been in our communities for years. What can we do as Christians to love our neighbor and care for one another during these stressful days? God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of love, power, and a sound mind
2 Timothy 1:7 It is difficult to keep our thoughts focused on good things, especially when our television brings us new reports of the virus spreading on a daily basis. This is not a time for Christians to fall into despair or panic. It is a time to evaluate the facts, take personal preventative measures, rely on Christ for peace, and to pray for an end to this health crisis. This is a time to offer encouragement to your family and neighbors that may be searching for answers as to why this is occurring. They may have fear and anxiety. Take this opportunity to proclaim the hope and peace that only Jesus can bring. This is a virus similar to the flu, in that symptoms may include fever, cough, fatigue, and shortness of breath. Some patients have exhibited aching, runny nose, sore throat, or diarrhea. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure. The majority of people who become infected by this virus will recover from it without needing specialized treatment. Older people with underlying health issues, such as diabetes or heart problems, are more likely to have serious complications. In the links and video below, we offer some simple suggestions to help prevent the spread of the virus. We pray that God will use this time of great uncertainty to glorify His name, and that He will use us to offer support to those around us.
