Missions Opportunities for this Summer in North Carolina

On Friday, May 14, Gov. Roy Cooper issued an Executive Order (EO) greatly curtailing the COVID protocols required for North Carolina effective immediately. The protocols were adjusted due to the percentage of our adult population completely or partially vaccinated for COVID-19 and pertain to most settings.  In his Executive Order, Gov. Cooper 1) lifted the masking mandate; 2) lifted social distancing requirements; and 3) lifted maximum capacity restrictions.  So in-keeping with the Governor's EO, effective today Baptists On Mission is also lifting our requirements for masking, social distancing and capacity restrictions. The lifting of these restrictions applies to the rebuild centers, mission camps and any camps, events, conferences conducted by BOM. We will still abide by any restrictions/guidelines a "meeting host" has in place. If someone has not been vaccinated or they are simply more comfortable masking, we strongly encourage them to continue to mask. We want all of our volunteers to be safe and feel safe while working with us.

For many churches, it has been over well over a year since they went on a mission trip together. It is not too late for you to sign up to attend one of our Mission Camps, Rebuild centers, Deep Impact or Deep Impact Kids. Below are links to North Carolina Mission opportunities that would be great for your church, students or children. There are certain age requirements for each of these camps

Florence Recovery/Rebuild Centers

We have a total of 4 sites that have recovery/rebuild operations working out of them. We have been doing mud-outs, tear-outs, shockwave/sanitation and doing rebuilds. Our large Rebuild sites with site coordinators include: Lumberton, New Bern, Rose Hill, and Burgaw. So far, over 5800 recovery jobs have been completed.  We are doing home rebuilds. You do not need to be trained. Please come to help people get back in their homes!

Mission Camps in Shelby and Red Springs

We have 2 Mission Camps (one in Shelby and one in Red Springs, NC). Teams serving at Red Springs and Shelby Mission Camp have the opportunity to make an impact on people's lives. The Mission Camp Leadership will identify a project based on the current need and the skills of your team. While the service provided by teams is important in and of itself, the opportunity to build relationships, pray for, and minister to the community is the real purpose of the Mission Camp.

Deep Impact

Deep Impact Missions offers missions-focused camp experiences for students 6th-12th grade and their adult leaders. All DI camps are pre-packaged, meaning that everything is done before you arrive. All the leader needs to do is bring the students and be ready to spend a week serving Christ alongside them. Camps are full of missions opportunities, worship, small groups, and recreational opportunities each day. DI weeks are easy to register for, and we hope you'll join us in sharing the life-changing message of Jesus with others this summer.

Deep Impact Kids

DI Kids Missions Weeks, Mini-weeks, and Weekends are pre-packaged mission experiences sponsored by Baptists On Mission that provides elementary age students and their leaders/parents with the opportunity to share the love of God with people in NC. Weekends, mini-weeks, and week-long experiences are for 1st-5th grade children and leaders/parents. 6th grade can participate if they are in the churches children's program. Children and adults will participate in a variety of mission opportunities including hands on projects, worship, fun and games and fellowship. Morning devotions and worship each evening will help children reflect on their lives and commit themselves to serving others in Christ’s name.
