Hurricane Ian Update: October 7, 2022

Because of your prayers, gifts and support, NC Baptist Disaster Relief is serving in Cape Coral, Florida following the devastation brought on by Hurricane Ian. NC Disaster Relief has deployed our large Feeding Unit, feeding teams, recovery teams, shower/laundry, Chaplains, generators and mud out, tear out and chainsaw teams to do this work.

Please consider downloading and sharing this video during your service this Sunday to help others learn more about how to pray for people in Florida, how to pray for our NC volunteers, what God is doing through NC Baptists and how you can help. Here is the link to view and download this Disaster Relief video https://vimeo.com/757823793. You will see the download button on this page. The brief video highlights the many ways that we as NC Baptists are helping in Florida.

There are also some PowerPoint slides that you can use in your service. Click on the images below to open and download.

Please consider having a prayer time during your service this Sunday to pray for those affected by Ian and the volunteers who are helping. Pray for people affected by Hurricane Ian. Pray that the volunteers will be the hands and feet of Jesus to hurting people. Pray that God will be glorified and made known by the words and actions of the volunteers who are helping.

Consider giving to help those in need. Please support the NC Missions Offering which provides for the on-going disaster relief ministry and all ministries of Baptists on Mission. If you want to make a donation specifically to Hurricane Ian efforts, please make your check payable to Baptists on Mission, designated for Hurricane Ian, and mail to: Baptists On Mission, P.O. Box 1107, Cary, NC 27512. You may also give online.

Consider going to assist with the immediate and long-term recovery efforts. The impact of Hurricane Ian will be felt for a long time. We have lots of disaster recovery work and we need lots of trained and untrained volunteers. To register as a volunteer or receive updates, go to https://baptistsonmission.org/Hurricane-Ian. You can also receive updates on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/ncmissions.

Thank you for your praying, giving and going.
