Red Springs and Shelby Mission Camps
Teams serving at Red Springs and Shelby Mission Camps have the opportunity to make an impact on people's lives. The Mission Camp Leadership will identify a project based on the current need and the skills of your team. While the service provided by teams is important in and of itself, the opportunity to build relationships, pray for, and minister to the community is the real purpose of the Mission Camps. Door of Hope/ Least of These Projects in South Africa
NC Baptist Men/ Baptists on Mission has worked with Door of Hope (DOH), a ministry providing infant rescue and an orphanage in South Africa, since 1999. They have rescued over 1500 children, the first being Georgina Smith of Wilmington whose adoptive father is DOM in that association. Adoptions have decreased in recent years and so NCBM/ Baptists on Mission will help build the Village of Hope beginning later this year, providing long term homes for older children who have not been adopted. You can volunteer to lead a team or donate toward to offset the cost of building a home. For more information, call Paul Langston at 919-604-4778 or go to http://baptistsonmission.org/Donate/South-Africa. |

Appalachian Christmas Outreach 2016
The Appalachian Coalfields Ministry seeks to help meet the physical and spiritual needs of people living in the Appalachian Area. One of the greatest ministry needs in this area occurs at Christmastime. NCBM/Baptists On Mission is calling on churches statewide to respond to this need through APPALACHIAN CHRISTMAS OUTREACH 2016. Our goal is to collect 10,000 backpacks of items to be distributed to Appalachian children in December of 2016. For some, this is only gift they may receive. Collection areas will be set up across the state in November. Your church can also be paired with a church in Appalachia to do an outreach event and distribute backpacks. This is the time to begin collecting and filling the backpacks! To learn more about how you and your church can help with this project, please visit our website at http://baptistsonmission.org/Missions/United-States/Appalachian-Coalfields/Appalachian-Christmas-Outreach, or contact Mark Abernathy at mabernathy@ncbaptist.org (919-459-5607) |
