Florence Rebuild

Hurricane Florence Rebuild (Ongoing)

Hurricane Florence is the most devastating natural disaster that North Carolina has ever experienced (approximately 90,000 homes affected). This disaster is so big that it has required a long term rebuild response to help get many people back in their homes. We have set up three different large rebuild center sites where we can house and feed many volunteers who are working on homes.  We manage the rebuilding of homes from these “rebuilding hubs”. This will be a long term response that will take 2 more years and require thousands of volunteers to help get many people back in their homes.

Cost: There is a charge of $10 per person per day, which helps cover your meals (3 meals per day), lodging and insurance. We understand that you are volunteering your time to help many people affected by Hurricane Florence. If you have questions about this charge please contact Paul Langston at 800.395.5102, ext. 5611 or plangston@ncbaptist.org.

Appalachian Christmas Outreach

Appalachian Christmas Outreach

The Appalachian Coalfields Ministry, sponsored by Baptists on Mission, seeks to meet physical and spiritual needs of people living in the Appalachian Area. Working with scores of ministry centers and small churches in five Appalachian states, we help mobilize volunteers and resources to meet needs. One of the greatest ministry needs in this area occurs around Christmastime. BOM is calling on churches statewide to respond to this need through Appalachian Christmas Outreach 2021. Our goal is to collect 18,000 backpacks of items to be distributed to Appalachian children in areas of need in late November and December 2021. Statewide collection date will be Saturday, November 6. Collection areas will be set up across the state for churches to bring their backpacks.
