Remodel of Disaster Relief Facility
Wasilla, Alaska

A team is requested to help a local church provide a significant facelift/siding repair on a 3-story barn that is used for state Disaster Relief storage facility. It is very well built with 1” rough sawed local white birch horizontal board and batten siding. The biggest task will be to replace some of the planks and much of the batten stripping. Lumber/materials and tools will be provided. Tools will include: air nailers, ladders, scaffolding and a scissor lift on site. Teams will have access to housing with cots provided, but may have to relocate sleeping for Sunday AM. A kitchen is available for meal preparation. A local cook may be requested who would provide salmon and/or moose. Team will fly into anchorage. We will provide vans, sightseeing help, and fishing guides.

Length of assignment:       5 - 10 Days
Preferred dates:                  Summer 2021
Costs:                                    Travel to AK, food
