Compassion Ministries

Compassion Ministry is an opportunity to demonstrate Jesus’ love to our community through service projects that meet needs of those who often feel unseen and insignificant.

GETTING STARTED First, look to God Himself to direct the ministry of your life, your family’s life, and your church’s life. He is the one who will establish the work that you should do to bring Him glory.

The basics for starting any type of ministry project are the same:
PRAY. Ask God for a clear vision of a ministry project that brings Him glory
ENVISION. Cast a vision for what the ministry might look like.
CONSULT. Share your vision with your pastor or missions committee.
RECRUIT. Get others involved by sharing your vision.

Your church knows your community best. What unique challenges is your neighborhood facing? Where can your church step in and serve those in need?

Here are a few ideas to get you started as you plan to Meet the Need First:

a) Offer free lawn mowing and landscaping services.
b) Collect school supplies for children in need.
c) Serve at your local pregnancy center.
d) Build wheelchair ramps for those with disabilities.
e) Deliver lunches to the homeless.
f) Deliver homemade baked goods to public service workers.
g) Host a free yard sale in your church’s neighborhood.
h) Check and install fire alarms in homes.
i) Host a community health fair.
j) Serve at a local food bank.

Mission Statement

Baptists on Mission exist to Glorify God by involving Churches and Christians in meeting human needs in Jesus' name.

Purpose

Seeking to be a resource for churches who want to pursue compassion ministries.

Mandate from Christ

The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because He has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.
